Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on goals from Nathaniel Brown and Michael Olise to win the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup. Played at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund's home stadium, the match was Bayern's first competitive game of the season. Dortmund failed to register a single shot on target in the first half as Bayern scored twice, with Olise adding the second just before the break.
Dortmund pressed harder after halftime and Fábio Silva pulled one back in the 75th minute. Brown, Olise and Harry Kane all showed glimpses of post-World Cup form, and Bayern registered 11 shots while looking a level above their rivals as they held on for the win.

Toronto Blue Jays starter Dylan Cease carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning against the New York Yankees on Saturday, only to lose it with two outs when Jazz Chisholm Jr. lined a clean single to right field. On his 106th pitch, Cease allowed the hit, then gave up an RBI single to Austin Wells and was lifted after 111 pitches, as Toronto held on to win 4-3.
Cease tied a season-high with five walks but still dominated with his fastball and slider. It was the second time this season he took a no-hit bid into the seventh. The only no-hitter in Blue Jays history belongs to Dave Stieb on Sept. 2, 1990. Nathan Lukes hit the deciding home run in the eighth.

Canadian soccer fans again voiced their frustration over U.S.-Canada trade relations by booing the American anthem on Saturday. Jeers echoed through Vancouver's BC Place before a Major League Soccer game between the Whitecaps and FC Dallas, and the anthem was similarly booed at Stade Saputo before CF Montreal hosted the LA Galaxy.
The protests came hours after Prime Minister Mark Carney suspended trade talks and recalled his negotiators, prompting the U.S. to impose 50 per cent tariffs on billions of dollars in Canadian exports. Carney said Canada will match the tariffs dollar for dollar. Canadian fans also booed the U.S. anthem in early 2025 when President Donald Trump threatened tariffs.
