Canadian triathlete Tyler Mislawchuk captured a bronze medal at the World Triathlon Championship Series event in Weihai, China on Saturday. The 32-year-old from Oak Bluff, Man., crossed the line in 1 hour 41 minutes 25 seconds.

Switzerland's Max Studer won gold in 1:41:08, while Spain's David Campero Del Campo finished seven seconds ahead of Mislawchuk to claim silver. Mislawchuk finished the 1.5-kilometre swim in 18:39, the 38.6-kilometre bike in 51:53, and the final 10km run in 29:35.

Fellow Canadian Liam Donnelly did not finish the event.

5. MLB Suspends Dominican Prospect Over Identity Scheme

Major League Baseball reportedly opened an investigation and then suspended a sought-after Dominican prospect for an alleged scheme that included a fake name, age, birth certificate and even gravestone to make him appear younger, according to an ESPN report.

The player was purportedly "David Severino," a switch-hitting infielder around 14 years old who reportedly agreed to a $2.8 million deal with the Guardians, to be finalized in 2029. But his real name is Daury David Severino Damaso, and he is actually 16, according to the reported investigation.

Allegedly, with his parents' consent and a trainer's help, an identity was created to appear as his younger brother, along with a fraudulent death certificate and a fake tombstone. MLB has suspended Severino, forcing him to wait an additional year to enter the international amateur market.

6. Blue Bombers Beat Alouettes 44-28

Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros was on the money all night in Friday's 44-28 win over Montreal. He lofted a touchdown pass that put the game out of reach, leading Ontaria Wilson to the perfect spot at the back of the end zone to give his team a 23-point lead.

8. Big Ten Adds Four Availability Reports Per Week

As sports betting continues to proliferate, college football is taking more steps to minimize inside information. Via the Associated Press, the Big Ten announced on Friday that it will expand its player availability reports from one per week to four.

The rule, which applies only to in-conference games, mandates a report on each of the three days before a game, with a final report on game day. Midweek reports require teams to identify players as probable, questionable, doubtful, out, or out for the first half; on game day, the categories are game-time decision, out, or out for the first half.

9. ESPN Removing BottomLine Ticker for College Football

ESPN is removing its BottomLine ticker during its college football broadcasts this season. All college football games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPNU, and ESPNEWS will go without the BottomLine.

The move is meant to provide a cleaner viewing experience, though ESPN will still give score alerts throughout broadcasts. Fox, CBS, and NBC do not have an on-screen ticker during games, while FS1 kept the ticker last season and Big Ten Network did not.

10. CFB Week 0 Opens With Bill Belichick Watch
