Costway 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner — 3-in-1 Cool, Dehumidify and Fan for 350 Sq. Ft.! $285.99 CAD (59% Off)

Best Buy currently has the Costway 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner for $285.99 CAD, down from $699.99 — 59% off. Orders over $35 ship free.

At 10,000 BTU it's rated to cool 350 sq. ft. (about 32 square metres), which covers a living room, a primary bedroom or a single basement room. It's a 3-in-1 unit — air conditioner, dehumidifier and fan in one housing — with a 50 pint-per-day dehumidifying capacity and 330 m³/h airflow. The louvers adjust manually 70 degrees up and down and 20 to 30 degrees left and right for wider coverage.

Four modes and two fan speeds, a temperature range of 60.8°F to 89.6°F, a 24-hour timer, and both a remote and a touch panel. Noise is rated at 65 dB or less in sleep mode — normal for a portable unit, but don't park it against the headboard in a bedroom. The filter is removable and washable, and there's auto defrost plus a self-evaporating system, auto shutoff when the tank fills, and auto restart after a power interruption. Four casters and built-in handles let you roll it between rooms.

The install kit is fairly complete: an exhaust hose adjustable from 9 to 61.5 inches, a drain pipe, a window kit fitting openings from 25.5 to 49.5 inches, a remote and a manual. The unit measures 12.5 x 12 x 27.5 inches and weighs 45 lb, runs R410A refrigerant on a standard 115V/60Hz outlet.

One honest note: this listing has only four reviews on Best Buy, averaging 2.5 out of 5 — too small a sample to read much into, so check the specs against your room rather than the star rating.

At $285.99 against a $699.99 list price — close to 60% off — this is the low end of what this unit sells for at Best Buy.
