Samsung 990 PRO 2TB NVMe SSD — Up to 7,450MB/s, PS5-Ready! $440.59 CAD (50% Off)

Amazon.ca currently has the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD (Canada version) for $440.59 CAD (list $874.99, 50% off). Prime members ship free; non-Prime orders ship free over $35.

The 990 PRO is Samsung's flagship M.2 drive, with sequential reads up to 7,450MB/s and writes up to 6,900MB/s — essentially maxing out PCIe 4.0. Random read/write is 40%/55% faster than the 980 PRO, so 4K editing and game loading feel noticeably quicker.

Thermals are handled by Samsung's own nickel-coated controller in a slim form factor, so it fits desktops and laptops without crowding and resists throttling under sustained load. It's compatible with PS5 expansion, where Samsung claims up to 65% better random performance — a solid way to add storage to the console.

Samsung Magician software lets you monitor drive health, protect data and get firmware updates. Samsung makes its own DRAM and NAND in-house and has been the #1 flash memory brand since 2003, so reliability is well established.

4.7 stars over 13,000+ reviews, ranked #2 in Internal Solid State Drives. If you're expanding a console or a heavy-duty workstation, this is a set-it-and-forget-it pick.
