LEGO Friends Heartlake City Candy Store 42649 — Build a Sweet Shop! $21.95 CAD (45% Off)

Amazon.ca currently has the LEGO Friends Heartlake City Candy Store (42649) for $21.95 CAD (list price $39.99 CAD, save 45%). Free shipping for Prime members; orders over $35 CAD ship free otherwise.

It's a pretend-play set for kids 6 and up: a candy shop with two minidolls, a micro-doll, and a cat, enough characters to act out customer visits or a sibling shop story. The shop is packed with details too: a pick 'n' mix counter, a giant lollipop, a gumball machine, and a candy-making area with ingredients, scissors, and a cooking pot.

Unlike sets that end up just sitting on a shelf, this one is built to be played with. Sorting candy and playing shopkeeper gets kids making up their own stories, and that kind of role play does more for social and sharing skills than pure building. At 376 pieces it's quick to put together and stays compact (about 16 cm wide), which suits kids just getting into LEGO.

It ranks #2 in Toy Building Sets, with nearly 2,000 reviews at 4.8 stars and over 1,000 sold last month, so it clearly holds up. At 45% off, that's close to half price, which makes it an easy birthday or anytime gift.
