TERRAMASTER D4-320 4-Bay Enclosure — Turn Four Spare Drives into 88TB! $212.49 CAD (15% Off)

Amazon.ca has the TERRAMASTER D4-320 four-bay USB 3.2 Gen2 enclosure (drives not included) for $212.49 CAD, down from $249.99 — 15% off. Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping over $35.

It solves one specific problem: you've got drives pulled from old PCs and retired NAS boxes, too useful to bin and with nowhere left to plug in. The D4-320 turns them into external storage — one USB-C cable into a Mac, Windows or Linux machine, no drivers.

Throughput runs over USB 3.2 Gen2 at 10Gbps. Four 8TB SATA drives together hit about 1,016MB/s combined read/write; a single SATA SSD reads around 510MB/s. It takes drives up to 22TB each for 88TB total, and handles 3.5" HDDs, 2.5" HDDs and 2.5" SSDs.

Be clear on one thing: there is no RAID here. You get four independent disks, not one big volume. If you want redundancy, look at TerraMaster's RAID models or a NAS. This is a DAS — direct attached storage — so other devices on your network can't reach it.

Day to day it's straightforward: tool-free trays, a push-lock design that clicks each tray into place so nothing works loose, and hot swap so you can change a drive without powering down. Cooling is a temperature-controlled fan with sound-absorbing panels and vibration damping; TerraMaster claims 50% quieter than the previous generation, under 21dB(A) at idle, which means you won't hear it from a desk or bedroom.

In the box: power adapter, USB cable, quick install guide. Two-year warranty. If the job is simply gathering loose drives into a quiet high-capacity vault — no RAID, no network — the price and the specs line up.
