Samsung Odyssey 27" QD-OLED Gaming Monitor — 240Hz and 0.03ms at 1440p! $549.99 CAD (31% Off)

Best Buy currently has the Samsung Odyssey 27" 1440p QHD OLED Gaming Monitor (LS27HG612SNXZA) for $549.99 CAD (regular $799.99 CAD, 31% off). Orders over $35 CAD ship free.

This is a 27-inch QD-OLED at a native 2560 x 1440, 16:9. The point of OLED here is true black, and the contrast and 178°/178° viewing angles are simply not what an LCD panel does. It's Pantone Validated, reproducing over 2,100 Pantone colours and more than 110 skin tone shades, which makes it usable for photo and colour work too. HDR10 is supported.

Gaming is where it's aimed: 240Hz with a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response, so fast camera turns stay clean. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible are both supported, with variable refresh handling tearing and stutter.

The panel carries a glare-free film that Samsung rates at 54% less glossy than conventional anti-reflection coating — useful if you sit near a window. On the burn-in question, a Thermal Modulation System automatically manages brightness to keep the panel from overheating during long sessions.

The stand does height, swivel, tilt and portrait, and the 100 x 100 VESA pattern means you can move it to an arm. Input is a single HDMI with HDCP support. It's 3.8kg with the stand, 2kg without, and draws 78W typical. There are no built-in speakers, so audio goes out to external speakers or headphones.

At this price it sits near the bottom of the 27-inch 240Hz QD-OLED range. The sale runs through October 23.
