Sony BRAVIA 7 II 55" 4K TV — True RGB LED Backlight, $1,300 Off! $1,699.99 CAD (43% Off)

Best Buy is currently selling the Sony BRAVIA 7 II 55-inch 4K TV (model K55XR70M2, 2026) for $1,699.99 CAD (regular $2,999.99 CAD, 43% off). Orders over $35 ship free.

The backlight is the interesting part. Most LCDs start with blue LEDs and convert that light into red and green with quantum dots; the BRAVIA 7 II uses separate red, green and blue LEDs, so the colour leaves the light source directly without conversion. Sony calls it True RGB LED, and the result is more accurate, more natural colour with wider viewing angles. You notice it on sports and nature footage — grass that does not drift yellow, jerseys whose red does not bleed.

The panel is 55 inches of native 4K Ultra HD at 120Hz with XR Motion Clarity processing, which keeps fast sports, games and action scenes free of obvious blur. Dolby Vision handles highlight and contrast control. Four HDMI 2.1 inputs cover a PS5, a Switch 2, a set-top box and a soundbar without a switcher, and PS Remote Play streams PlayStation games straight to the set.

Audio comes from Acoustic Multi-Audio, with tweeters positioned toward the upper sides of the screen so sound follows the picture. Dolby Atmos and 3D Surround Upscaling add a sense of space to ordinary stereo sources, which buys you time before adding a soundbar. Google TV runs the apps with Gemini built in, AirPlay 2 and Google Cast are supported, and Bluetooth lets you use headphones for late-night watching.

55 inches suits a mid-sized living room or a bedroom, and at 43% off it lands in the price range of an ordinary mid-tier LCD. It is ENERGY STAR certified. This price runs until November 12.
