Brother MFC-J1410DW Colour Inkjet All-in-One — Half Price at $119.99 (48% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Brother Work Smart MFC-J1410DW wireless colour inkjet all-in-one for $119.99 CAD (list $229.99, 48% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise orders over $35 CAD ship free.

The classic home-printer trap is cheap to buy, expensive to run — or missing a function you need. This one covers four: print, copy, scan and fax, driven from a 2.7-inch colour touchscreen rather than a cryptic button combo.

The genuinely useful part is automatic duplex printing — homework, tax paperwork, contracts, no manual page flipping. There's also a 20-sheet single-sided automatic document feeder on top, so multi-page copies and scans go in as a stack instead of one sheet at a time on the glass. The paper tray holds 150 sheets, enough for a home or small office.

Speed is 16 ppm black and 9 ppm colour, with first pages out in roughly 6.2 and 9.6 seconds. Resolution runs up to 1200 x 6000 dpi (1200 x 3600 on Mac) — fine for photos, though it's no dedicated photo printer. It handles paper up to 8.5 x 14 inches.

Connectivity is thorough: Wi-Fi and USB 2.0, plus the Brother Mobile Connect app for printing from a phone. Google Drive, Dropbox, Box and OneDrive are built into the touchscreen, so scans can go straight to cloud storage without a detour through a computer.

Two things to know: it ships with a Refresh subscription trial (optional — use it or don't), and ink runs on the LC501 family, so budget for genuine cartridges. It's also 7.62 kg and 34.3 x 39 x 18.3 cm, so leave desk space.

4.1 stars from nearly 300 reviews, #12 in ink cartridge printers. At $229.99 it was unremarkable; at $119.99 it's a different conversation — colour all-in-ones with an ADF and auto duplex are thin on the ground at this price.
