Cat litter usually fails at one of two things: odor control and dust. What sets this one apart is ARM & HAMMER's classic baking-soda formula — the granules are coated in baking soda that neutralises urine and feces odour rather than masking it with heavy perfume, so it holds up even in multi-cat homes. The lavender scent comes from essential oils and is fairly light, not the nose-stinging kind some scented litters have.

The formula is 99.9% dust-free, so pouring it does not kick up a cloud and it is less likely to get tracked all over the house. ARM & HAMMER says the 18 lb size delivers 20% more lavender freshness than its old 20 lb size, which works out cheaper per pound.

Clumping is solid enough that scoops hold together. This is an online-exclusive size that stores generally do not stock. With over 13,000 reviews at 4.2 stars, it is a dependable pick from an established brand. Just over $24 for 18 lb is more than 30% below the usual price — worth stocking up if you have cats.
