The essential difference between OLED and LCD is that each pixel lights itself, with no backlight. Those 8.3 million self-lit pixels deliver true black and clean contrast — dark scenes don't wash out into grey. This is LG's 2026 B-series, positioned between the entry OLED line and the flagship C/G models.

The α8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 handles real-time picture and sound optimisation, and you get Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and FILMMAKER MODE — the essentials for movies and streaming. Native refresh is 120Hz and reaches 165Hz with a capable PC graphics card, paired with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium; response time is as low as 0.1ms, so it suits both consoles and PC.

The OS is webOS 26, with an AI Hub powered by Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, the usual Netflix / Disney+ / Apple TV apps, and 100+ free LG Channels. Four HDMI ports let you keep a console, a streamer and a PC connected at once. Peak brightness is 500 nits — OLED was never about raw brightness, so it won't cut through glare like a high-end LCD, but once you're used to perfect black it's hard to go back.

One caveat: this is a 2026 model with only 15 reviews so far at 4.5 stars, so there isn't much long-term feedback yet. With a new OLED you're buying the panel and the brand, and LG is a safe bet there. For a living-room TV upgrade — or a first OLED — $998 is a typical entry range for the B-series.
