Garmin Edge 1040 Solar GPS Cycling Computer — Solar Charging with Up to 100 Hours of Battery! $649.99 CAD (36% Off)

Best Buy currently has the Garmin Edge 1040 Solar GPS cycling computer for $649.99 CAD (regular $1,019.99, 36% off). Free shipping on orders over $35.

This is the most complete bike computer Garmin makes right now. The body weighs just 130 g (5.93 x 11.76 x 2 cm), so it disappears on the bars, but behind that screen sits a multi-band GNSS positioning system that holds a lock in tree cover, valleys, and dense downtowns where older GPS units drift.

Battery life is what separates the Solar model. The Power Glass solar charging lens paired with the 1.8 Ah internal battery delivers up to 100 hours in battery-saver mode, or roughly 45 hours under demanding conditions with limited sun exposure. A full USB-C charge takes about 4 hours.

Navigation uses type-specific riding maps, so road riders and mountain bikers see different networks, with popular roads, trails, and searchable points of interest baked in — no phone required mid-ride. Pair compatible sensors (sold separately) for power, heart rate, and cadence, and the computer will factor course difficulty and your stamina into pacing guidance.

The training loop is equally complete: missed workouts trigger reminders, and Strava, Komoot, and TrainingPeaks all sync directly through the Garmin Connect app. The streamlined interface keeps stats, courses, tools, and data fields within a tap or two.

In the box: Edge 1040 Solar, standard mount, flush out-front mount, mountain bike mount, silicone case, tether, and USB-A to USB-C cable. Rated 4.4 stars across 320 reviews at Best Buy. Sale ends October 23.
