Samsung Odyssey G9 49" OLED Gaming Monitor — 5120x1440, 240Hz, 0.03ms, G-Sync and FreeSync! $1399.99 CAD (33% Off)

Best Buy currently has the Samsung Odyssey G9 49" ultrawide curved OLED gaming monitor (LS49DG936SNXGO) for $1,399.99 CAD (regular $2,099.99, save 33%). Orders over $35 ship free.

It's a 32:9 curved 49-inch panel at a native 5120 x 1440 — effectively two 27-inch 1440p displays with no seam down the middle. The OLED panel delivers true blacks and high contrast, with a rated 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 99% CIE1976 colour coverage and HDR10 support. A matte finish keeps reflections manageable over long sessions.

Gaming is the point here: 240Hz refresh with a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response, backed by G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro with low frame rate compensation. Two extras earn their keep — Black Equalizer brightens dark areas so you can spot opponents in shadow, and Virtual Aim Point overlays an on-screen crosshair for shooters.

Inputs are one HDMI 2.1, one Micro HDMI 2.1 and one DisplayPort 1.4, with HDCP support, so a console and a PC can both stay connected. The stand handles height, tilt and swivel adjustment, and it's VESA mountable at 100 x 100. With the stand it weighs 12.6 kg and measures 119.47 x 52.93 x 28.41 cm, so plan for desk depth.

Worth noting: there are no built-in speakers, so audio comes from external speakers or headphones. Beyond that, this is the kind of screen that's hard to go back from — particularly for racing, flight sims and anything that benefits from a wide field of view.
