GoPro MAX2 360 Action Camera — True 8K, Press and Reframe Later! $429.99 CAD (38% Off)

Amazon.ca has the GoPro MAX2 360 action camera for $429.99 CAD (list $689.99, 38% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise orders over $35 ship free.

The MAX2 is built around one idea: press the shutter and forget about framing. It records True 8K 360 in every direction, and you reframe afterwards in the GoPro Quik app — widescreen for YouTube, vertical for TikTok, POV or selfie, all cut from the same clip. GoPro claims up to 21% more effective resolution than the competition; what actually matters is how much room is left in post, and 4K reframes still hold up.

The invisible mount is the part people end up using most. There are 1/4-20 threads on the bottom, so on an extension pole the pole disappears completely — the result looks like a third person is filming you, or like drone footage, without buying a drone.

The lenses are optical glass and replaceable, rated water-repellent rather than sealed for diving, so a scratched lens is a swap instead of a repair — relevant if the camera lives on a helmet or handlebar. The body is 390 g with a 1.82-inch touchscreen, HyperSmooth stabilisation and horizon lock adjustable after recording, and six microphones.

In the box: the camera, two protective lens caps, a 1960mAh Enduro battery, curved adhesive mount, mounting buckle and thumb screw, USB-C cable and a lens cloth. No microSD card — budget for a U3 card.

Two things worth knowing before you buy: 360 footage always needs a pass through Quik before it becomes a normal video, and 8K files are huge, so buy the biggest card you can.

It currently ranks #51 in Action Cameras with 269 reviews at 4.4 stars. The $260 you save is roughly a spare Enduro battery plus a fast card.
