Marshall Acton III Bluetooth Speaker — Wider Soundstage, Separate Bass & Treble Knobs! $379.98 CAD (26% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Marshall Acton III Bluetooth home speaker (Black) at $379.98 CAD (list price $510.44 CAD, 26% off). Free shipping for Prime members; otherwise orders over $35 ship free.

The Acton III is the smallest unit in Marshall's home line: 26 cm wide, 17 cm tall, 2.85 kg, so it fits on a desk, a nightstand, or the shelf under a TV. It's mains-powered with no battery — you won't be carrying it to the balcony, but you never think about charging either.

The headline change this generation is the soundstage. The tweeters are angled outwards with updated waveguides, and Marshall's claim is that the sound is wide enough to follow you around the room. Hardware is a two-way system: a 4-inch woofer plus 0.75-inch tweeters, 60 W of output, response down to 50 Hz. Three physical knobs on top handle volume, bass, and treble independently — no app required to shape the sound, which is more than most smart speakers can say.

Two processing tricks help in real rooms: Dynamic Loudness compensates bass and treble as you change volume so vocals don't go thin at low levels, and Placement Compensation corrects for nearby reflective surfaces if the speaker sits against a wall or in a corner. Bluetooth 5.2, plus a 3.5 mm aux input for a computer or TV.

Worth noting on the materials side: the cabinet is PVC-free, 70% recycled plastic, wrapped in vegan leather. Nice on paper; in the hand it feels a little stiffer than real leather, which is fine as long as you're not expecting otherwise.

The track record is solid — 2,620 reviews averaging 4.8 stars, 100+ bought in the past month, ranked 420 in Portable Audio & Video. The limitations are just as clear: no battery, and officially "Not Water Resistant," so keep it out of the bathroom.

$510.44 is the regular Canadian list price, and $379.98 is a reasonable place to buy in — especially if what you want is a speaker that doubles as furniture and doesn't need an ecosystem.
