ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera (Wired) — 1080p HDR, Head-to-Toe View & HomeKit Support! $154.99 CAD (30% Off)

Best Buy currently has the ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera (Wired) for $154.99 CAD (regular $219.99, 30% off). Free shipping on orders over $35.

The camera records 1080p Full HD with HDR at up to 30fps in a 4:3 portrait format, with a 175-degree vertical and 187-degree diagonal field of view — enough to see a visitor head to toe and a package on the ground. Night vision keeps faces and the porch visible in low light.

Detection covers people, packages and objects, with radar verification and activity zones to cut down false alerts from trees or passing cars. Package detection requires an ecobee Smart Security subscription. Two-way talk lets you answer from your phone, tablet or an ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium, with noise cancellation on the speaker and microphone.

It is wired-only and needs a 16-24VAC, 10VA minimum, 60Hz doorbell transformer; a chime adapter is included for existing mechanical or digital chime boxes. IP65 rating and an operating range of -25 to 45 degrees Celsius mean no battery to die in a cold snap.

Connectivity is 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band Wi-Fi with WEP through WPA3 encryption, plus Bluetooth. Ecosystem support is broad for the price: Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Matter and IFTTT. The ecobee app handles live view, playback and notifications, and registration includes one free month of ecobee Smart Security with 24/7 professional monitoring, 30-day video storage and package detection.

Rated 4.2 from 322 reviews. If you already run ecobee thermostats, or want a doorbell with no battery to fail in winter, this is worth a look.
