Worth Buying: Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam — 360° Coverage, Plug In and Watch the House! $79.99 CAD

Amazon.ca has the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam (2024 release, white) for $79.99 CAD. Free shipping for Prime members; otherwise free on orders over $35.

This one isn't on sale, but it's worth calling out: not many indoor cams pan a full 360 degrees and tilt up and down — a fixed camera covers exactly one corner once you mount it.

You steer the view with a swipe in the Ring app, so one unit can cover a room. Checking on the cat, whether an elderly parent is up, or what's going on by the door is just a matter of panning over.

Video is HD with colour night vision, which beats the black-and-white night mode a lot of cheaper cams fall back to — you can actually tell colours apart after dark. Two-way talk lets you speak through the phone, which is handy with kids or older family members at home.

Setup really is plug-in simple: power it, set it on a shelf or stand, pair it in the app. No drilling, no wiring. It also works with Alexa — pull the feed up on an Echo Show, or get announcements on an Echo Dot.

One thing to be clear about: live view is free, but recorded history and smart alerts require a Ring Protect subscription, billed separately. Factor that into the budget.

4.6 stars across more than a thousand reviews and 1,000+ sold last month — it's one of the steadier picks in this category. If you want one camera to watch a whole room, it costs a bit more than a fixed model but saves you buying a second one.
