TERRAMASTER D4-320 4-Bay USB 3.2 Gen2 Enclosure — Tool-Free, Up to 88TB Total! $212.49 CAD (15% Off)

Amazon.ca is currently selling the TERRAMASTER D4-320 4-bay hard drive enclosure (diskless) for $212.49 CAD (list price $249.99, 15% off). Prime members get free shipping; non-Prime orders ship free over $35.

First, an important clarification: this is a DAS (direct-attached storage), not a NAS. The four bays are independent disks with no RAID function — you plug it into a computer and use it as external storage. Know this before buying so you don't expect an array.

The interface is USB 3.2 Gen2 over Type-C, with 10 Gbps of bandwidth. With four SATA III drives, real-world read/write reaches about 1,016 MB/s; a single SATA SSD reads at up to 510 MB/s. Each bay supports a drive up to 22TB, for up to 88TB total, and it takes 3.5" and 2.5" SATA hard drives plus 2.5" SATA SSDs — old drives can move straight in.

Swapping drives needs no screws: the trays are tool-free, and TerraMaster's Push-lock design secures a tray the moment you insert it, so drives won't drop out or disconnect. It's hot-swappable, so you can change a drive without powering down. It works with Mac, Windows, and Linux with no drivers required. An intelligent temperature-controlled fan plus sound-absorbing and vibration-damping design keeps standby noise below 21 dB(A) — quiet enough for a desk or study.

It comes with a 2-year warranty, weighs 590 g, and includes a power adapter and USB cable. It suits anyone with spare drives who wants backups and media centralized without building a NAS. 15% off isn't dramatic, but 4-bay enclosures at this price don't drop much either.
