Sony BRAVIA Theatre U Wearable Neckband TV Speaker (HT-AN7) — Personal Surround Sound! $248 CAD (38% Off)

Amazon.ca currently has the Sony BRAVIA Theatre U wireless wearable neckband TV speaker (HT-AN7) for $248 CAD (list $399.99 CAD, 38% off). Prime members get free shipping; non-Prime orders ship free over $35 CAD.

This solves a very specific problem: you want to watch a big movie at night, but you don't want the TV or a speaker setup to wake the household. The BRAVIA Theatre U is a speaker that rests on your neck and sends sound straight to your ears — you get the feeling of sitting in a cinema while barely anyone nearby can hear it.

At its core is Sony's 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer, which tailors the surround experience to your ear position — though note the full spatial experience needs a Bluetooth connection and a compatible BRAVIA TV (sold separately). An upward-facing X-Balanced Speaker Unit delivers more volume and clarity than typical neckband speakers.

It connects over Bluetooth and supports multipoint for two devices at once, so you can switch between phone and TV without re-pairing. Battery life is rated at 12 hours, with quick charging giving up to an hour of playback from a 10-minute charge over USB-C. Gaming gets lower latency over a wired connection, the built-in mic handles hands-free calls, and you can pair two Theatre U units together. It's IPX4 splash-resistant, fine for the kitchen or balcony.

Across 423 reviews at 4.3 stars, the most-discussed point is fit — at 268 g it takes some getting used to around the neck, but it's built for long movie sessions and a good angle makes a difference. At a $399 CAD list it was pricey; at $248, down 38%, it's in one of its lower ranges since launch. Worth a look if you want better TV sound without wiring a home theatre, or live in an apartment and don't want to bother the neighbours. There's also a coupon on the listing — check whether it stacks before you check out.
