Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 49" Gaming Monitor — 5K OLED 240Hz UltraWide! $1199.99 CAD (40% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 49" curved gaming monitor (model LS49CG932SNXZA, Canada version) for $1199.99 CAD, down from a $1999.99 list price — that's 40% off, or $800 saved. Prime members ship free; non-Prime orders over $35 CAD ship free. There's also a coupon to clip just below the price.

The panel is the headline: 49 inches at 32:9, native 5120x1440, which is effectively two QHD monitors side by side, wrapped in an 1800R curve. It's nearly 1.2 m wide, so measure your desk first — a monitor arm is worth it, since the stock stand takes up real space.

It's a Samsung OLED panel with DisplayHDR True Black 400 and a rated 1,000,000:1 contrast, so blacks are genuinely black with no backlight bleed. At 110 PPI, detail stays sharp across the 49-inch span. You get 240Hz and 0.03ms GtG response, plus G-Sync Compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro, so fast-paced games stay smear-free.

Connectivity is generous: HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, and a USB hub, so consoles and a PC can both hook up. Picture-by-Picture splits the screen in half at each source's native resolution — game on one side, keep a guide or a call on the other.

OLED needs a little care over time; Samsung's OLED Safeguard uses thermal algorithms to auto-adjust brightness and manage heat, reducing burn-in risk. The chassis is just 4.5mm at its thinnest and weighs about 12.6 kg with a metal finish. If you've been waiting for an ultrawide OLED to drop, $800 off list is a rare move this year.
