1. Blue Jays rout Rangers 7-2 to avoid series sweep

Spencer Arrighetti (9-9), the second of seven Toronto pitchers, earned the win despite allowing Texas' only runs over two innings.

With six games remaining, the Rangers (78-78) kept a one-game lead in the AL West after Houston (77-79) lost 4-2 at home to Atlanta. Toronto (77-79) matched the Astros' record and both sit 2-1/2 games behind the Chicago White Sox for the third and final wild card. 2. Commanders QB Daniels dislocates left elbow again

Source: TSN Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels dislocated his left elbow again, less than a year after the same injury sidelined him for most of the second half of last season. Coach Dan Quinn said imaging showed a dislocation but no fracture; Daniels was carted off at the end of the first half of a 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Daniels missed all but one game in the second half of last season after dislocating the elbow against Seattle on Nov. 2. This time the same thing happened as he braced himself with his non-throwing arm on a fall. He was set to fly home with the team and undergo more testing Monday. Backup Marcus Mariota, who took over, said: "It sucks, and you can't even really put it into words."

Before getting hurt, Daniels rushed seven times for 69 yards and went 11 of 17 for 96 passing yards, including a 4-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs. Center Nick Allegretti said Daniels told him afterward he would "be all right." Source

3. Bears QB Williams injures hamstring in 9-3 loss to Vikings

Source: Chicago Sun-Times Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams crumpled to the ground without being touched in the fourth quarter of a 9-3 loss to the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He fell at the Vikings' 6-yard line on a planned run that seemed destined for a touchdown, screaming and grabbing at his face mask before being carted off.

Williams will have further testing on his right hamstring Monday. Whether the injury is measured in weeks or months will have a bigger impact on Chicago's postseason hopes than anything that happened in the loss. Coach Ben Johnson said he was relieved it wasn't a knee injury, but noted "the hamstring could be pretty damaging, as well."

The Vikings blitzed Williams on 77% of his dropbacks, forcing his first interception of the season; he finished 15 of 26 for 138 yards with a 56.2 passer rating. 4. Eagles edge Titans to stay perfect at 2-0

Quarterback Jalen Hurts had the ball at his own 35-yard line down three points with 1:56 left and no timeouts, then led a nine-play, 65-yard drive, accounting for all of the yardage (61 passing, four rushing) and the winning touchdown pass. He finished 26 of 37 for 264 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

5. Auger-Aliassime lifts Canada past France 3-1 into Davis Cup Final 8

7. Packers rally past Jets 20-17 in overtime

9. Boxing champ George Chuvalo's funeral set for Monday

Source: Toronto Sun The Canadian boxing community and loved ones will gather in Toronto on Monday to bid farewell to legend George Chuvalo. The five-time Canadian heavyweight champion, who fought Muhammad Ali, George Foreman and Joe Frazier, died Sept. 12 - his 89th birthday.

Visitation was held Sunday at Cardinal Funeral Home in the city's west end and continues Monday from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a procession to St. Cecilia's Church for a 1 p.m. funeral. Famous for never being knocked down in a 93-bout career, Chuvalo struggled in later years with dementia.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford shared condolences on X, calling him "a heavyweight boxing legend, a family friend and a Canadian icon." Chuvalo spent years speaking to young people about addiction, choices and consequences. Source

10. Canada holds England to 26-26 draw, ending 39-match win streak

Source: CBC Canada stopped England's record 39-match women's rugby winning streak with a thrilling 26-26 draw in the WXV series on Saturday. England's first match since winning the 2025 Rugby World Cup final a year ago was far more compelling, the score knotted at 19-19 at halftime.

England spent most of the last quarter on the attack and was held up over the tryline, as Canada held out despite its own errors.
