Acer Nitro ED270R 27" 1500R Curved Gaming Monitor — 165Hz and 1ms, Under $180! $179.99 CAD (36% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Acer Nitro ED270R 27-inch 1500R curved gaming monitor for $179.99 CAD (list $279.99, 36% off). Free shipping for Prime members; otherwise free over $35.

It's a 1920×1080 VA panel at 165Hz with 1ms VRB response and AMD FreeSync Premium. In practice that means the panel refreshes in step with whatever your GPU outputs, so tearing and stutter largely disappear — no smearing when you flick the mouse or swing the camera in an FPS or racing game.

The 1500R curve bends the edges slightly toward your eyes; at 27 inches the corners don't distort, but the sense of wrap when you sit close is noticeable next to a flat panel. ZeroFrame bezels keep the gap small if you run two of them side by side.

Inputs are one DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0, with two built-in speakers and an HDMI cable in the box, so it works out of the box. The stand tilts from -5 to 25 degrees and the panel is wall-mountable.

4.6 stars from 2,651 reviews. The long-term feedback is worth reading: one buyer came from a decade-old 1080p 60Hz TV and reported 120Hz working properly on PS5 with no stretched image; another checked back after two years to say it was still solid, and that the occasional one-second blackout turned out to be their home wiring, not the monitor.

Be aware that 1080p at 27 inches is a modest pixel density — designers or anyone staring at text documents all day will find it soft. Gaming from a PC, streaming, and sim titles are where it makes sense. At $179.99 for a 165Hz curved panel, this is right around the floor for this model.
