GE 24" 50dB Dishwasher — 45% Off, Piranha Hard Food Disposer and Auto Door Open Dry! $599.99 CAD

Best Buy currently has the GE 24" 50dB front-control dishwasher (GBT500SGVWW, White) for $599.99 CAD, down from $1,099.99 — 45% off. Free shipping on orders over $35.

A standard built-in dishwasher dropping from $1,099.99 to $599.99 is close to half price, and at that number you usually end up compromising on capacity or noise. This one holds 14 place settings and runs at 50dB, enough for a full day of dishes or a dinner party.

The standout is the Piranha Hard Food Disposer: stainless steel impellers spinning at 3,600 rpm pulverize food particles and keep the wash arms clear. In practice that means you don't have to pre-rinse plates before loading them. The Clean Sensor detects soil levels and adjusts water and cycle time automatically, so the savings show up in hot water as well as effort.

Drying is handled by the Auto Door Open Dry System, which releases the door at the end of the cycle to let steam escape. Plastic containers and deep mugs come out without the standing water that closed-door drying tends to leave behind.

Three cycles (heavy, light, auto) cover everything from greasy pans to a light rinse, with a sanitization option, 1–12 hour delay start and a child lock. The tub is stainless steel and the rack tines fold down for pots and odd-shaped items. Dimensions are 59.7 x 85.7 x 57.4 cm at 42 kg, so it fits a standard built-in cutout. It's ENERGY STAR certified, which matters on the hydro bill over several years.

19 reviews at 4.6 stars is a thin sample, but the score is steady. The trade-off at this price is smart features: no Wi-Fi, no voice control, no app. If you don't need to start the dishwasher from your phone, that's cost you're not paying for.
