Furniture painted with Chalked paint looks clean but flat. This semi-transparent glaze adds the depth: brush it over a cured Chalked finish, let it set slightly, then wipe off as much as you want. Wipe a lot for a light aged look, wipe a little for full antique.

The nice part is control. The glaze settles into wood grain, brush strokes, corners and crevices on its own, so details pop in a way a darker paint can't fake. It works over brushed or sprayed Chalked surfaces, indoors or outdoors.

Typical method: one thin coat, working the edges and any carving, then wipe along the grain with a dry cloth and let it cure. Seven ounces covers a side table, a chair or a jewellery box — a full wardrobe takes two cans.

4.6 stars, 178 reviews. The risk with antiquing is overdoing it, and this is forgiving because you can wipe it back.
