「Worth It」Dell Pro Dock WD25 — Four Displays and 100W Charging Through One Cable

Amazon.ca currently has the Dell Pro Dock WD25 USB-C docking station for $214.99 CAD, same as its regular price — this isn't a discount play, it's the kind of desk infrastructure you buy once and keep for years. Prime members get free shipping; otherwise orders over $35 CAD ship free.

Lid closed, laptop on a stand, keyboard, mouse, monitor and ethernet all plugged into the dock — you leave the house by unplugging one cable. The WD25 is Dell's current commercial Pro Dock, natively driving up to four high-resolution displays, with 100W of power delivery that covers mainstream laptops from Dell's own AI PCs to other brands.

The port count is genuinely generous: four USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps), one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps), plus a USB-C with DP Alt Mode — and those ports keep delivering power even with no PC attached, so phones, earbuds and watches charge off it. HDMI and DisplayPort are both onboard, with ethernet around the back. Ten ports total.

One design detail worth calling out: the USB-C host cable can be routed out either the left or right side, so you don't have to arrange your desk around the dock. At 549 g it's heavier than you'd expect — which is a good thing, since a fully loaded dock won't get dragged across the desk. The chassis is at least 65% post-consumer recycled material and standby power draw is down 72% versus the previous generation; not something most individuals will notice, but a real number for corporate buyers.

Warranty is 3-year limited hardware with Advanced Exchange, which beats the one-year send-in service on consumer gear.

If you plug in power, monitor, ethernet and a mouse receiver every time you sit down, a dock removes four separate trips. The price is normal for an OEM Dell dock — no point waiting for a sale that may not come.
