This is a consumable, not a new gadget. If you run an iSpring RO5004F series tankless reverse osmosis system, this is its first stage — it catches sand, rust and suspended particles down to 5 microns so the RO membrane and carbon stages behind it actually last.

The body is chemical-resistant polypropylene rather than the cheap stuff that crumbles when you squeeze it. iSpring rates it for up to 6 months; real life depends on your water. Older GTA neighbourhoods with rusty mains are better off at four to five months, newer subdivisions can stretch it. Simple rule: when flow drops noticeably, or the housing turns yellow-brown, replace it.
