The centrepiece is the 1/2-inch drive torque wrench. Dial in your number, pull until the wrench clicks under your hand — that's the whole interface. Mechanical means no batteries, no app, no pairing, no re-calibration dance; it can sit in a trunk through a whole winter and still work in spring. The breaker bar matters just as much: it's what actually cracks a rusted lug nut loose. Plenty of kits skip the bar and people end up using the torque wrench as one, which is exactly how you wreck its accuracy.

The 12 pieces include both a 3/4-inch and a 19 mm short socket — they're interchangeable, DEWALT just ships both. What it doesn't include is a 3-inch extension (more on that below). The hardshell case holds every piece in its own cutout, so nothing rattles around your trunk. The wrench is 30 inches long and feels heavier in hand than the photos suggest — the sort of build you buy once. It ranks #7 in Torque Wrenches with 591 reviews at 4.6 stars.

Two things to know going in. First, no 3-inch extension is included, so when you're working close to an alloy wheel the socket can rub the rim lip — and a scuffed alloy rim doesn't buff out. Budget a few dollars for one. Second, the case is bulky; it just fits across a small trunk.

In Canada, swapping to winters is a twice-a-year ritual. One mobile tire-change visit costs about what this kit does. With a garage, it pays for itself in a single season; without one, having it in the trunk beats waiting for a tow in a snowstorm.
