To be clear up front: this is the housing only — cartridges are sold separately. The clear body lets you see how dirty the cartridge inside is, so you're not guessing when to change it.

It has 3/4-inch ports and a pressure-release button, with high flow (5-15 GPM depending on feed pressure), so it works well as a whole-house pre-filter on your main line. It takes standard 4.5 x 10-inch cartridges, so common sediment, carbon and PP options all fit.

The set includes the housing, a plastic wrench, a metal bracket and screws. For a first install, watch a video first and lubricate the O-ring with silicone grease before tightening — a poorly seated seal is the usual cause of leaks.

One thing you must check: the housing is rated to 90 psi max. If your water pressure can exceed 60 psi, a pressure regulator MUST be installed ahead of it, or there's a burst risk. Cartridges generally last 6-12 months depending on usage and water quality.
