One gateway plugs in and joins your Wi-Fi; the four sensors go wherever water would show up first — under the water heater, behind the washer, beside the dishwasher, next to the sump pump, near the fish tank. When a sensor gets wet it sounds a 100 dB alarm on the spot and the gateway pushes an app notification, an SMS and an email, so you find out while you're still at work.

The link runs on LoRa low-power long-range radio with a rated 1,968 ft reach, and one gateway supports up to 100 sensors. That range is the point: a far corner of the basement, a detached garage or a backyard shed that Wi-Fi never reached can still report back.
