Travelpro Platinum Elite 21" Hardside Carry-On — MagnaTrac Wheels, Lifetime Warranty! $299.99 CAD (45% Off)

Amazon.ca currently has the Travelpro Platinum Elite 21" hardside carry-on (Dark Sky, with laptop pocket) for $299.99 CAD (list $549.99, 45% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise orders over $35 CAD ship free.

Falling from $550 to $300 is a rare price on this case. Travelpro comes out of the flight-crew world and Platinum Elite is its premium line, so this is basically half price for a bag you'd expect to keep a decade.

The details that actually matter day to day: four MagnaTrac spinner wheels self-align to your direction of travel, so the bag doesn't drift sideways as you walk — it's the single most-praised feature. The PowerScope Lite handle has multiple stops, so taller travellers aren't hunched over. The shell is 100% polycarbonate, which flexes on impact instead of cracking, with aluminum corner guards and a textured finish that hides scuffs. The 21" size is sizer-bin tested for most North American carriers, and the 2" expansion saves you when the return trip gets heavier.

Business travellers will get the most out of the front pocket: a padded slot for laptops up to 15.6" means you don't open the whole case at security, and there are external USB-A and USB-C fast-charge ports with a battery pocket hidden in the expansion layer that's FAA-compliant (power bank not included). The TSA lock ships at 0-0-0 — change it.

48 litres and 4.08 kg empty is right for a three-to-five day trip. Warranty is limited lifetime plus a Trusted Companion Promise covering airline damage for the first five years — worth more than any spec sheet if you fly often.

3.9 stars over 138 reviews. Complaints cluster in two places: the laptop compartment zipper is stiff, and one buyer received a case missing screws (that one ended with a full replacement, so support did come through). The phrase that shows up most is simply "the wheels are a dream."
