COSORI 6-Quart 9-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker — 13 Presets, Ceramic Nonstick Pot! $132.04 CAD (30% Off)

Amazon.ca has the COSORI 6-Quart 9-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker (CMC-CO601-SUS, stainless) at $132.04 CAD, down from $189.40 — 30% off. Prime members ship free, otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.

Six quarts, 1100 watts, 13 presets: pressure cook, rice, steam, sterilize, oatmeal/porridge, stew/broth, bean/grain, meat/poultry, slow cook, sauté, ferment, sous vide and keep warm. Big enough to braise a pot of beef for three without crowding, and soup won't boil over. At 11.9 lb it's lighter than the old stovetop-style units of the same size.

The inner pot is aluminium with a ceramic nonstick coating, BPA-free where it touches food. Ceramic holds up better than the usual nonstick liners, and porridge rinses right off instead of soaking overnight. Lid, inner pot and steam rack are all dishwasher safe — a hard requirement if you have a dishwasher.

A few details that matter in daily use: the seal/vent button is separate from the steam valve and the vent is angled 30 degrees back, so your hand never sits over the steam; the pot has an anti-spin seat so it stays put when you stir while sautéing; and there's a progress bar on the display instead of a countdown you have to keep checking. Twelve safety features, double-layer anti-scald lid.

It's easy to operate even if you've never used a pressure cooker — the preset names are self-explanatory. A recipe book is included, with more in the free VeSync app. Slow-cook mode takes a while to preheat, which is true of every cooker in this class; for long braises just use a pressure preset.

Ranked #3 in its category with 6,296 reviews at 4.8 stars, so the odds of a dud are low. $132 is the low end of what this unit has sold for recently — good moment if you're replacing an old stovetop cooker or trying to free up a burner.
