The 300-P is the current version of the Core 300, the unit with 91,000+ reviews behind it. The two numbers worth your attention: AHAM-verified CADR of 143 CFM for smoke, 153 for dust and 167 for pollen — that's 4.8 air changes per hour in a 222 ft² room, or one full pass per hour across 1,073 ft². Filtration efficiency is 99.97% for particles from 0.1 to 0.3 microns, which is exactly where pollen, dust mite debris and pet dander sit. Independently lab-tested, not a figure printed on the box by the marketing department.

It draws 45 W — a full day of running costs less than a dollar of electricity here. Sleep mode drops to 24 dB, quieter than a fridge hum, and the display light switches off so it doesn't glow at you from the nightstand. Filters last 6–8 months, and Levoit sells four versions: standard, Pet Allergy (traps fur, absorbs odour), Toxin Absorber (smog and VOCs) and Smoke Remover (wildfire smoke). If you have cats or dogs, get the pet one — it's a $10 decision people get wrong.

Toronto winters mean four months of sealed windows, so indoor air just recirculates. Wildfire season adds a few weeks where you can literally see the haze. For a household with allergies, this is the most direct fix there is — the two things that come up again and again in reviews are a clearer nose and no more morning sneezing fits. One practical note: don't shove it against a wall, the intake needs clearance, and it performs noticeably better on a side table than on the floor.

It sits at #2 in Air Purifiers and #1 in Air Purifier Filters, with a 4.6 average across 91,000+ reviews. At that sample size the product itself is no longer the question.
