77 inches is the point of this TV. At a three-metre viewing distance it's the size where a living room starts to feel like a theatre, and because OLED has no backlight zones, black is actually black — no grey halo creeping in from the edges during a dark scene.

The panel uses LG's Hyper Radiant Color Tech with 8.3 million self-lit pixels. The certified numbers are black levels at or under 0.24 nits measured at 500 lux, with over 99% colour consistency. In practice that means shadow detail doesn't collapse into a smear.

Brightness comes from Brightness Booster Pro, which LG rates at up to 3.2x the a8-processor models. That matters for daytime hockey games or a living room with big windows — the old knock against OLED was that it looked washed out in daylight, and this generation closes most of that gap.

Processing is handled by the α11 AI Processor 4K Gen3, with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and FILMMAKER MODE. Audio is 5.1 channels — fine for series, but a soundbar still makes sense if you care.

Gaming is where it earns its money: 165Hz, 0.1ms response, G-Sync and FreeSync Premium, four HDMI inputs. One reviewer runs it off an RTX 4090 and calls it better value than a gaming monitor, which is a stretch, but a 77-inch 165Hz OLED has very little competition from actual monitors.

The honest caveats: this is a 2026 model with only 25 reviews so far at 4.5 stars. The most common complaint is advertising inside webOS — it appears when switching inputs or picking a channel, and you can turn it off, but it's fiddly.
