Apple Magic Mouse (USB-C, White) — Gestures and Scrolling on One Seamless Surface | $94.98 CAD

Amazon.ca has the Apple Magic Mouse (USB-C, White Multi-Touch Surface) at $94.98 CAD — that's list price, so no discount this time; Apple accessories rarely go on sale. Prime members ship free, otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.

The top of the mouse is one seamless piece of glass. No wheel, no middle button, no side buttons. You scroll by sliding a finger across the surface, and two-finger gestures handle page forward/back and swiping between full-screen apps. It feels odd for the first day because nothing gives you mechanical feedback about how far you've scrolled — same learning curve as a trackpad. Give it two or three days and going back to a scroll wheel feels clumsy.

The foot design is genuinely better than most: the glide is even on wood, cloth pads and glass, and it takes less effort to push around. Nearly everyone who uses one mentions this.

Battery life is rated at about a month or more per charge. The charging port is on the bottom, which means you can't use it while it charges — the most common complaint. Ten minutes on the cable buys you several days, so plug it in before bed instead of waiting for it to die. A woven USB-C cable is in the box.

Pairing is instant: turn it on and your Mac picks it up, no dongle, no USB port used. It works on Windows, but only as a basic two-button mouse — all gestures are gone.

The shape is flat. Your palm doesn't rest on it; you push it with your fingers. If you're used to a palm-grip mouse (especially for gaming) it will feel hollow. For office work, editing and writing, where your fingers scroll constantly, it saves real effort.

Who it's for: anyone with an iMac, Mac mini or a MacBook on an external monitor who wants one less cable, and people already fluent in trackpad gestures. If you have large hands, grip the mouse for hours, or mainly use Windows, look elsewhere.
