ASUS Chromebook CX1 15.6" — 11 Hours of Battery for Class and Couch! $389.99 CAD (13% Off)

Amazon.ca has the ASUS Chromebook CX1 (CX1500CKA-DH03-CB) for $389.99 CAD (list price $449 CAD, 13% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise orders over $35 CAD ship free.
A 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 matte anti-glare display with narrow bezels, an Intel Celeron N4500 (dual core, up to 2.8GHz), 4GB of RAM and 64GB eMMC. It runs ChromeOS plus Android apps from Google Play, is rated for up to 11 hours of battery, and weighs 1.8 kg (3.97 lb).
The brief here is clear: browsing, documents, video, homework. There's a full chiclet keyboard with a numeric keypad and 1.4mm of key travel, which beats a cramped 14-inch layout for spreadsheets. Ports cover two USB-C, two USB-A, microSD and a headphone jack, so no dongle needed on the road. It's built to MIL-STD 810H, which means a tumble off the couch isn't a crisis.

What to be honest about: 4GB of RAM will choke on fifteen open tabs, Windows software won't install (Office files open and edit fine in Google Docs or Sheets), and the display is entry-level in both colour and brightness. Not a gaming or video-editing machine.
13% off isn't dramatic, but $389.99 is about as low as this 15.6-inch Chromebook goes. If the house needs a "open it and it just works, survives being dropped, runs all day" student machine — or you want a couch laptop — it beats a used ultrabook: new battery, new warranty.
