The moment the heat comes on in Toronto, indoor humidity drops and you wake up with a dry throat. This one holds 3 litres and puts out up to 220 ml/h — on a low-to-medium setting it runs all night (rated up to 25 hours), so no refilling at 2 a.m.

You fill it from the top by lifting the lid instead of flipping the whole tank over, which anyone who has owned an older humidifier will appreciate. The 360° nozzle turns where you want it, so it doesn't blow straight at a crib, and it shuts off automatically when the tank runs dry — the app pings you too.

In the Govee Home app you get remote on/off, schedules, timers, humidity readings and custom modes; it also works with Alexa and Google Assistant. Paired with a Govee thermo-hygrometer it will hold a target humidity range on its own, though the hygrometer is sold separately.

The base takes essential oils, and the RGB light doubles as a night light — three functions in one footprint. At 22W the electricity cost is negligible, and Govee rates it for rooms up to 290 sq ft, enough for a bedroom or study.

4.2 stars from 1,265 reviews isn't class-leading for the money, but it's #4 in Single Room Humidifiers with 1,000+ sold last month. At $89.99 it was overpriced; at half off, $42.99 is where this belongs.
