Samsung 22" FHD IPS Monitor, 100Hz, Eye Saver — Super Slim! $88.00 CAD (32% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Samsung 22-inch FHD flat IPS monitor (LS22D300GANXZA, Canada version) for $88.00 CAD, down from $129.99 — 32% off. Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping over $35 CAD.

Under ninety dollars for a Samsung-branded panel, and it's the number one seller in its category. This is the "I need a monitor anyway, just get this one" purchase.

22 inches at 1920x1080. The IPS panel is what matters at this price: colour holds up when you're looking from the side, so two people can share the screen without fighting over the sweet spot. 100Hz is unusual down here — coming from 60Hz, scrolling pages and dragging windows feel noticeably smoother, and on a work machine that's the upgrade you notice before resolution.

5 ms response plus a Game Mode is fine for casual play; don't buy it for competitive shooters. There's exactly one HDMI port, which suits a laptop or a small desktop, and there are no built-in speakers — plan for external audio or you'll be surprised on unboxing.

Eye Saver mode cuts blue light and flicker, which makes long document and spreadsheet sessions less tiring. The chassis is very slim with narrow bezels, so a dual-monitor setup doesn't have a fat seam down the middle.

Two small annoyances. The single joystick on the back takes a few minutes to learn if you're used to clicking menus with a mouse, and it pops a small settings overlay on every power-on or wake that can't be disabled — you can only drag it into a corner and set it to disappear after five seconds. The stand also articulates more stiffly than it looks, which takes a firm hand but means it won't sag.

One reviewer complained about a blurry image: that's almost always an older GPU or out-of-date driver that can't drive 1080p cleanly, not the panel. Check your hardware before blaming the monitor.
