Amazon.ca currently has the Zinus 18-inch SmartBase metal bed frame (King) for $148 CAD (list $180, 18% off). Prime members get free shipping; non-Prime orders ship free over $35 CAD.
Anyone who's moved knows the mattress is the easy part — the base underneath is the hassle. A traditional box spring eats space, costs money, and can't be fixed once it sags. The SmartBase merges the box spring and frame into one all-steel platform with multiple floor contact points, rated for up to 3,000 lbs of evenly distributed weight. Foam, spring, or latex mattresses drop straight on top.

The 18-inch height leaves about 17 inches of clearance underneath — roughly 4 extra inches over a standard frame, so luggage, bins, and off-season bedding slide right under and small bedrooms gain back floor space. Assembly needs no tools: unfold, extend the legs, lock it in place. The folding design also means it can flatten out to fit through tight staircases and doorways when you move.
One note: to attach a headboard you'll need Zinus's SmartBase headboard brackets (sold separately). It's covered by a 5-year limited warranty. At $148 for the King you're saving $32 off list — a tough load rating to match at this price if you're moving in, renting, or upgrading the guest room.
