GoPro MAX2 8K Spherical Camera — 8K 360 Capture and 4K100 Slow Motion, 38% Off! $429.99 CAD

Best Buy is currently selling the GoPro MAX2 waterproof 8K spherical camera for $429.99 CAD, down from $689.99 — 38% off. Orders over $35 ship free.

The heart of the MAX2 is a 29.5MP CMOS sensor. In 360 mode it records 8K at 30fps, 5.6K at 60fps, or 4K spherical at up to 100fps — that 4K100 mode slowed to a third of real time makes every frame of a bike drop or a skate landing readable. Single-lens mode gives you 4K at 60fps in 16:9, 9:16 or 4:3, plus 1080p at 60fps, so vertical footage comes out of the camera ready to post.

For colour and latitude, 8K capture records over a billion colours with smoother gradations, and GP-Log support keeps more highlight and shadow detail for grading later — a matching LUT is included. Stills are 29MP 360-degree shots, so the action in front and everyone's reactions around you all end up in one frame.

Editing has been simplified. MotionFrame lets you move your phone to pick the framing you want, and after you keyframe the shots you like, the Quik app generates smooth transitions automatically. CameraFX adds pro-level looks — Spin, Flip, Roll, Wobble, Tiny Planet — without a desktop workflow. POV and selfie modes keep the full 360 frame, so you can explore any angle afterwards instead of committing to one on location.

The lenses are replaceable and water-repellent, so a scratched lens is a swap rather than a repair. A 1/4-20 thread on the base works with tripods and standard mounts, and pole-mounted shots make the pole disappear — invisible selfie sticks, drone-like follow shots, cinematic 360. There's a 1.82-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi, USB-C and microSD transfer, unlimited cloud backup with automatic upload, and 12 voice commands for hands-free control. At 150g it won't weigh down a helmet or chest mount.
