Nintendo Switch Pro Controller — 40 Hours Per Charge, Now $89.99 CAD (10% Off)

Amazon.ca currently has the official Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for $89.99 CAD (list $99.99, 10% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.

Nintendo's official accessories sit at $99.99 for years, so a $10 drop is a fairly rare move.

Playing Zelda or Splatoon on a Joy-Con grip means short stick travel and a floaty feel — precise aiming just doesn't happen. The Pro Controller uses the standard ABXY layout with two full-size analog sticks, an eight-way D-pad, four shoulder buttons, plus Home, Plus, Minus and Capture. The grips sit somewhere between an Xbox and a PS controller in shape, so long sessions stay comfortable. It works docked, in handheld mode, and in tabletop mode with the console as the screen.

Battery life is the real selling point: around 40 hours on a single charge, which is about as good as wireless controllers get. 4.7 stars across 72,000-plus reviews. The two themes that keep coming up are that it pairs with a PC over Bluetooth just fine, and that it's expensive — several reviewers suggest looking at a wired Horipad instead. The premium buys you wireless plus official build quality.

If you mostly play on the TV, or you play shooters and action games, this is the single upgrade worth making on a Switch. $10 isn't a huge discount, but the official pad rarely gets one at all.
