🎉 史新低！Kobo Libra Colour eReader — 7" Colour E Ink, Waterproof, Page-Turn Buttons! $395.69 CAD (21% Off)

Amazon.ca currently has the Kobo Libra Colour for $395.69 CAD (list $500.91, 21% off). Prime members get free shipping; otherwise orders over $35 ship free.

It uses a 7-inch E Ink Kaleido 3 colour display, so comic panels, graphic novels, illustrated books and covers finally show up in colour — with no glare in sunlight and no notifications. Colour e-ink is muted compared with a phone, but it's plenty for highlighting in different shades and telling covers and charts apart.

There's 32GB of storage, rated for up to 24,000 eBooks or 150 Kobo audiobooks, weeks of battery life, and IPX8 waterproofing (60 minutes in up to 2 metres), so reading in the bath isn't a gamble. Physical page-turn buttons sit on the bezel for either hand, and you get dark mode, landscape mode and full font/margin control. The shell is made partly from recycled and ocean-bound plastic.

If you want to write on it, the Kobo Stylus 2 is sold separately — colour highlighting and annotation is the real difference from a black-and-white reader. Long-term owners who read around ten hours a week and journal every morning describe it as easy to live with, with notebooks organised in folders. Two gripes worth knowing: there's no microSD slot, so be sure 32GB is enough, and the screen rewards a case — more than one owner regretted skipping one.

Built-in OverDrive lets you borrow eBooks from your local library, which matters in Canada, and unlike Kindle it isn't locked to one store — EPUB works fine.
