The whole point of the MAX2 is that you never have to aim. Hit the shutter and it records everything around you in True 8K 360, then you reframe it into regular 4K clips in the GoPro Quik app. Shooting kids, pets, or a run down the slopes stops being a framing job. Its True 8K 360 capture packs about 21% more resolution than the competition.

The party trick is invisible mounting. Screw it onto an extension pole using the 1/4-20 thread on the bottom and the pole vanishes from your footage, giving you drone-like follow shots and clean selfies. Selfies, follow-cam and POV shots can all be pulled out of the same recording.

The lenses are replaceable optical glass with a water-repelling coating, so a scratch means swapping a lens instead of the whole camera. The body weighs 390 g.
