Dreame RGB IC LED Strip 5m — 4-in-1 Chip, 50 DIY Segments, Matter Support! $55.99 CAD (49% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Dreame RGB IC LED light strip (5 m) for $55.99 CAD (list $109.99, 49% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping over $35.

The usual complaint about RGB strips is that the whole run is one colour — want red on the left and blue on the right and you're buying two strips. RGB IC splits the strip into independently controlled zones so multiple colours can coexist on one run, with gradients that actually blend instead of stepping. Dreame goes further with a 4-in-1 chipset: four colour channels inside each LED, which gives fuller mixed hues and higher output than standard RGB IC.

The numbers that matter: 60 LEDs per metre (most older strips run 30), so behind a TV or under a cabinet you get a continuous band rather than a dotted line; 1,800 lumens across the run; 5 metres with an connector at the end for extensions; and 50 controllable segments with 17 preset animations in the app plus a DIY mode for your own flowing effects.

Music sync uses a mic in the control box, and multiple Dreame strips can be grouped so they move together — good enough for a party or a movie night. Matter support is the real differentiator here: it drops straight into Apple Home, Alexa and Google Home instead of trapping you inside one vendor's app, which is still where a lot of same-priced strips sit. The shell is water resistant, so an eave or porch run is fine, and seasonal decorations stop being a yearly purchase.

Three honest caveats:

No diffuser. As indirect lighting — tucked behind furniture, under shelves — it looks excellent. Mounted in plain sight you can see individual LEDs. If it's going to be visible, budget for an aluminium channel with a diffuser cover. The adhesive. The 3M backing won't hold on painted drywall. Use the screw-in clips if you want it up permanently. The power brick is chunky and needs an outlet nearby. Pairing also wants 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi; on a combined 2.4/5 GHz network it can refuse to connect until you split the bands.

Five metres at $55.99 is roughly half what comparable branded strips ask, with a 24-month warranty. For TV backlighting or a bedroom ambient run, it's worth a look.
