This is the 4TB Canada version (MZ-V9P4T0B/AM) — Samsung's flagship Gen4 drive. Sequential reads hit up to 7,450MB/s and writes up to 6,900MB/s, essentially maxing out the PCIe 4.0 interface, with 40%/55% better random read/write than the 980 PRO.

Who's it for? Two groups. First, PS5 storage expansion — the 990 PRO supports DirectStorage, delivers up to 65% better random performance for faster loads, and is validated for the PS5, so it drops straight into the slot. Second, 4K video editors and heavy workstation users, where big-file transfers and the 432GB cache on the 4TB model hold up to sustained work.
