Amazon.ca has the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 49-inch gaming monitor (LS49CG932SNXZA, Canada version) for $1,298 CAD (list $1,999.99, 35% off). Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.
5120 x 1440 is two 27-inch QHD panels side by side with no bezel between them. Anyone who's run dual monitors knows the annoyances — dragging a window across the gap, matching two panels that don't quite agree on colour. This removes all of that. The 1800R curve wraps the image around your field of view, so at 49 inches your eyes aren't sweeping back and forth.

The OLED panel is the reason to buy it: DisplayHDR True Black 400 means actual black with no backlight bleed, so dark scenes keep the detail they're supposed to hide. 240Hz with 0.03ms grey-to-grey response, G-Sync Compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro both on board, and fast camera turns don't smear. Connectivity is generous — HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort and three USB ports — plus Picture-by-Picture, which lets it act as two displays at native resolution for a desktop and a work laptop. It's 4.5mm at its thinnest.
Three things to think through first. It weighs 12.6 kg: one owner had it bow an IKEA desk top over the course of a week, so plan on extra support or a monitor arm, and you want at least 70cm of desk depth. There's no remote — settings run off a joystick behind the panel, workable but not as convenient. And OLED burn-in is the shared cost of the technology: rotate your wallpaper, hide desktop icons and the taskbar, set standby after ten minutes, and it's basically a non-issue.
One counterintuitive note: a buyer who replaced a 34-inch work monitor with this found neck strain kicking in after two weeks — for eight-hour spreadsheet days, 38 inches is closer to the sweet spot. So this is a gaming monitor first, and not every game handles 32:9; some stretch. Over 1,200 ratings at 4.3 stars. Against a $1,999 list, $1,298 is a real cut.
