The MAX G2 is the successor to the Max G30P, one of the best-selling commuter scooters in North America. The most useful upgrades are range and tires: a claimed 70 km per charge, which for a 10-15 km round-trip commute means charging about once a week. The 10-inch self-sealing tubeless pneumatic tires have a jelly layer inside, so a small nail won't leave you stranded — plusher than solid tires and less fussy than standard air-filled ones.

Suspension is front hydraulic plus rear spring, and with traction control it handles our potholed roads far better than a rigid-fork scooter. Top speed is 35 km/h and the claimed climbing angle is 22%, so downtown hills are a non-issue. There are 4 riding modes, and beginners can start limited.
