Dell SE2426HG 23.8" 240Hz Monitor — Brand-Name 240Hz at a No-Wait Price! $154.99 CAD

Amazon.ca has the Dell SE2426HG 23.8-inch 240Hz monitor for $154.99 CAD. There's no discount on this one, but a branded 240Hz Fast IPS panel at this price doesn't need a sale to justify itself. Prime members ship free; otherwise free over $35.

The specs: 1920x1080, 240Hz refresh, 0.5ms response, 99% sRGB, AMD FreeSync Premium plus HDMI VRR, two HDMI and one DisplayPort 1.4, TUV Rheinland 3-star eye comfort, and IPS viewing angles. It weighs 3.36 kg, so it won't eat your desk. It currently ranks #15 in Computer Monitors with 500+ bought in the past month, which is solid volume for a 24-inch.

What it's actually like: hooked to a PS5 or an entry-level GPU, 240Hz with variable refresh takes care of tearing in shooters and racing games. At 240Hz you're running 8-bit colour; drop below 165Hz and you can push higher bit depth and enable HDR, so pick your trade-off. The downsides are honest ones: colours are fine but not impressive, so don't buy it for photo editing; the stand only tilts, with no height or swivel adjustment; and 1080p at 23.8 inches shows slight pixel grain in text, though not in game scenes.

Who it's for: anyone with about $150 who wants 240Hz without gambling on a no-name panel. If your GPU is a 1080p card, a 4K monitor is wasted money — this matches up.
