Cascade Mountain Tech Pop-Up LED Lantern 2-Pack — 100-Lumen Light for Blackouts and Camping! $34.27 CAD (26% Off)

Amazon.ca has the Cascade Mountain Tech pop-up LED lantern two-pack for $34.27 CAD, down from $46.62 — about $17 a lantern. Prime members ship free; otherwise free shipping on orders over $35.

Each one puts out 100 lumens from 30 LEDs in a full 360 degrees, so it lights a table or hangs from a tent pole and covers the space around it. The body is collapsible: pull the top up to use it, push it down to 3.5 x 5 inches for a pack side pocket or an emergency bin. Each lantern weighs 227 g.

Runtime is rated 12 hours of continuous use, and when the battery drops it dims into a low-power mode for roughly another 4 hours instead of dying on you. The housing is drop-tested to 1 metre under FL1 standards and rated IPX4 for splashes — dew and light rain are fine, don't submerge it. Six AA batteries are included, so it works out of the box.

Toronto loses power once or twice a year, and candles and a phone flashlight are not a real plan. The reviews keep repeating the same story: bought one set, then bought another as a gift, and keep them out where they can be grabbed in the dark; one person used them at a cottage and ordered the same day. That tells you what this is — not serious expedition lighting, but the thing that keeps you from stumbling around during an outage.

4.6 stars from 540 reviews, ranked 369 in camping lanterns. Two in the box means one for the house and one for the car or the cottage.
