Acer Nitro 27" 1440p 200Hz Gaming Monitor — 0.5ms GTG + FreeSync Premium! $169.99 CAD (43% Off)

Best Buy currently has the Acer Nitro 27" 1440p QHD Gaming Monitor (XV270U X1) for $169.99 CAD (regular $299.99, 43% off). Orders over $35 ship free.

The centrepiece is a 27-inch IPS panel at a native 2560 x 1440. At this screen size that resolution hits a sweet spot — distant objects in games and small text on the desktop both stay sharp. IPS also means 178-degree viewing angles horizontally and vertically, so colour holds up even when you're sitting off to the side.

The 200Hz refresh rate paired with a 0.5ms GTG response time is where this monitor earns its keep. Fast turns and quick flicks stay clean, with motion blur and input lag kept low. AMD FreeSync Premium synchronises the graphics card's frame output with the panel's refresh, which all but eliminates tearing and stutter. A matte finish knocks down most reflections, so a window-side desk isn't a problem.

Colour coverage is sRGB 99%, brightness is 250 cd/m², typical power draw is 26W and standby sits at 0.3W. That's fine for gaming and video, though it won't fight a bright, sun-facing room. The stand does height, tilt, swivel and pivot, and there's a VESA mount for an arm or a dual-monitor setup. Note that there are no built-in speakers — plan on a speaker set or headphones.

It's sitting at 4.3 stars across 49 reviews on Best Buy. A 27-inch 2K 200Hz IPS gaming monitor at $169.99 CAD is not a common sight in Canada, and the sale runs until November 6.
