The Alpha 7 IV pairs a 33MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with the BIONZ XR processing engine to faithfully reproduce texture, tone and detail, with 15+ stops of dynamic range for smoother transitions between highlights and shadows. ISO runs from 100-51200, expandable to 50-204800 (stills) and 100-102400 (movies), keeping noise low even in dim light.

Autofocus is a standout: the Fast Hybrid AF system packs 759 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection points, with Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye-AF locking onto the eyes of people, animals and birds.
